Cornelia Steinert joined PointTrade Services, Inc. in 2011 as a Sr. Manager in its Consulting Group. Ms. Steinert has over 20 years of experience in customs brokerage and foreign-trade zone operations.
Relevant Experience
For several years, Ms. Steinert served as the Administrator for a general purpose foreign-trade zone in Virginia gaining valuable insight into the grantee and user roles.
In June 2000, she founded a foreign-trade zone consulting firm, Stellar Trade Support Inc. (which later became Stellar Trade LLC.). During the eleven-year period with Stellar Trade she oversaw the establishment of several significant foreign-trade zone projects, including both subzone and general purpose zone projects.
She pioneered the weekly entry procedures with U.S. Customs and Border Protection in the State of Virginia and has strong operational experience with both the EZ-FTZ and Integration Point foreign-trade zone software programs.
Ms. Steinert's experience comprises providing foreign-trade zone and trade and customs services to a wide range of industries including textiles, automotive, machinery, packaging, materials handling equipment, dinnerware, air and seaports, and general warehousing and distribution. She is experienced in FTZ feasibility analyses, operational issues, application preparation and review, activation processes, FTZ operational training, FTZ Annual Reports, zone schedules, FTZ compliance, and FTZ procedure manuals.
Ms. Steinert's focus is on continued excellence in operations and compliance. She has been a licensed customs broker since 1988 and spent several years in the customs brokerage community. She has experience in classification, preparation of customs entries, protests, and the logistics of importing and exporting.
She has been a very active member of the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones since 1987, and currently serves on multiple committees. Locally, she is past president of the Foreign Commerce Club, as well as a member of the Organization of Women in Transportation. She is very involved in state wide foreign-trade zone education in the State of Virginia.
Ms. Steinert holds degrees in German and Finance from Old Dominion University.
